In urban areas, the households must belong to one of the listed occupational categories. They are:

  • Beggars
  • Domestic workers

  • Construction workers/ plumbers/ masons/ labour/ painters/ welders/ security guards/ coolies and other head-load workers
  • Sweepers/ sanitation workers/ malis
  • Home-based workers/ artisans/ handicrafts workers/ tailors
  • Transport workers/ drivers/ conductors/helpers to drivers and conductors/cart pullers/ rickshaw pullers
  • Shop workers/ assistants/ peons in small establishments/ helpers/ delivery assistants / attendants/ waiters
  • Electricians/ mechanics/ assemblers/ repair workers
  • Washer-men/ chowkidars.

You can also check your eligibility for the Ayushman Bharat card online by visiting the official website of PM-JAY and entering your mobile number, state name and captcha code. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number which you have to enter on the website.

  • A new login page of “Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana” will open.

  • As you can see above in the screenshot. Enter your mobile number and captcha code and click on “Generate OTP”.
  • Enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and click on “Submit” button.
  • Search your name in the database using your ration card number, SECC name or mobile number. If you are eligible, you will see your name and details on the screen.
  • On the PMJAY portal homepage (as you can see above), you will see a section of “How to get Ayushman card”. In that section, select “Register Yourself & Search Beneficiary”.

  • Click on the “Register” button.

  • A “Ayushman Card Registration” form will open. Select your “State”, “District Name”, and enter your “Mobile Number”, “Email Id”, “Name”, “Gender”, and “DOB” in the form and click on the “submit” button.

  • On the homepage, you will see “Download Your Ayushman Card” link. As you can see in the above screenshot, click on the “Download Card” button.

  • A new login form will open. Enter your Mobile Number and click on “Sign in“.
  • Enter the OTP you received on your mobile number and click on “Submit” button.
  • You will see all your information on the Dashboard.
  • Click on the “Download Ayushman Card” button and save the Ayushman Bharat card on your device. You can also take an Ayushman card in PDF format, as well from the PMJAY portal.
